The Walk2Walk Holiday experience started at Manchester airport where I waved goodbye to the rain and 2 hours later waved hello to beautiful sunshine in Majorca’s capital city of Palma. I was given a route book, a free cap and taken to the Cuber Reservoir where I started the first day of hiking.
The scenery was breath-taking, rugged mountains stood tall above my head and the grass land was a perfect picture. I set off and saw wild flocks of sheep on one side and a large open reservoir on the other.
My 10km walk took me up, down and around long paths with stone steps –I reached high heights so I stopped a few times to appreciate the view (and rest, after all this was all very new to me!)
The journey took me across small bridges and under rock formations where water trickled through. It’s hard to describe in words how magnificent the views were, I even forgot I was walking as I focused so much on taking in what was around me.
It took me a good four and a half hours to reach my final destination, Soller town.
