The approximate difficulty level for this tour
Day 1: Arrival in Stralsund
Travellers are responsible for their own transportation to Stralsund. Arrive during the course of the day.
Day 2: Stralsund – Mukran – Rønne, ca. 3 km
It’s approx. 3 km / 2 mi from the harbour in Rønne to the hotel. Take the bus to Mukran. From there, it is a 3½ hour ferry ride to Bornholm’s tranquil capital, Rønne.
There are several museums, picturesque streets and shopping alleys to be enjoyed before calling it a night.
Day 3: Rønne – Allinge, ca. 16-22 km
Experience the beauty of the West coast as you walk from Rønne through forest and along the beach near Skovly to Hasle.
You may like to visit the smoke house there. Continue along the coast line and near Jons Kapel, a 40 m / 131 ft high cliff. You can either walk through Vang to Allinge or take the bus (fare payable on-site). Overnight in Allinge.
Day 4: Hammeren, ca. 15 km
Hammeren is a beautiful nature reserve on the Baltic. Start in Allinge and walk along the beach to Sandvig, taking in the island’s beauty along the walking trails.
Pass the lighthouse and continue up and down hill to Hammerhavn. There, you can visit the ruins of Hammershus, once the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. Return to Allinge via Hammersø and spend the night.
Day 5: Bornholm’s Riviera, ca. 16-26 km
Enjoy today’s relaxing walk along the coast to Gudhjem and Svaneke. A visit to the art museum on the way there is well worth it.
The exhibition consists of artists’ paintings depicting the island. If you prefer, you can take the bus from Gudhjem to Svaneke (fare payable on-site). Spend the night in Svaneke.
Day 6: Bornholm’s “Bakkerne”, ca. 10-15 km
Take the bus to the nearby Bakkerne (Hills of Paradise). The fare is payable on-site. Walk through forest landscape typical for Northern Scandinavia.
Return via the Bakkerne to Svaneke. If you prefer, you can take the bus from Nexø to Svaneke (fare payable on-site). Spend the night in Svaneke.
Day 7: Svaneke – Rønne – Stralsund
Refer to your ticket to determine the departure times. Transfer from Svaneke to Rønne and take the ferry from Rønne to Mukran. Transfer from there to Stralsund. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Spend the night in Stralsund.
Day 8: Departure from Stralsund
Turn in your rental bike and depart Stralsund after breakfast.
