Holiday Information Overview

First impressions of the Maltese Islands are wild and jagged rocky cliffs. During your walking tours, however, you will discover a surprisingly multifarious landscape behind this rough exterior.
Your daily routes along the coast take you from lovely sandy beaches to ragged cliffs inland towards a sparse hinterland. On some days you walk along the traces of the Order of Malta past ancient building’s and ruins.
These tiny islands will surprise you again and again and offer perfect conditions all year round for a wonderfully relaxing walking holiday in a more southerly part of Europe.

Day-by-Day Walking Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: Individual arrival in Malta

Pick-up from Malta Luqa airport and transfer to your chosen hotel.

Day 2: Coastal Walk Gneijna

Before your first tour, enjoy a welcome meeting where your guide will give you an overview of the forthcoming walking tours.
Today’s tour takes you along the northwestern coast of Malta. From there you have gorgeous views onto the nearby island of Gozo.
Walk on deserted paths along sandy beaches and dirt tracks past ruins of ancient buildings of the Order of the Knights of Malta. At the end of the tour you can cool off and jump into the crystal clear water in a small bay. Walking time: 3 to 4 hours.

Day 3: Circular Walk Gozo “the Green Island”

Early in the moring ferry ride to the island of Gozo. Different from Malta, this island is only sparsely inhabited and hence Gozo is regarded as a true oasis of tranquility. The scenery is mainly very rugged and wild, however during spring Gozo’s green valleys ooze a very special charm. Duration of the trip: approx. 10 hours, walking time: approx. 6 hours.

Day 4: Coastal Walk Selmun

Starting from Bahar ic-Caghaq, this tour takes you across several secluded beaches and bays. Your guide will lead you along the coast to the two uninhabited St. Paul’s islands.
Many centuries ago Saint Paul was shipwrecked here, which led to the foundation of the Catholic Church in Malta. On this tour you have ample time and opportunity again to dive into the cool water. Walking time: approx. 4 hours.

Day 5: Trekking Bidnija / Circular Walk Comino

Back on Malta you walk along a fortification, built by the British Army at the beginning of the 19th century. Time and again on this tour spectacular views await.
During the hot summer months we offer – instead of this trekking tour – a trip to the smallest Maltese island of Comino. Walking time: approx. 7 hours.

Day 6: Walking Tour Fawwara

An insiders’ tip at the end! Transfer to Rabat in the west of Malta, where you walk inland along the Fawwara-Route. This tour gets its name from an ancient spring, and legend has it that this very spring saved countless families’ lives by rising miraculously during the hot summers.
Walk through deserted valleys and discover a wild landscape and even the occasional traces of former settlements. Walking time: approx 4 to 5 hours.

Day 7: Individual departure or extra days
